About IP Ranking

by AIvolutionalx LLC

What is IP Ranking?

IP Ranking is the first entertainment IP demand intelligence platform, tracking anime, gaming, and character brands across 86 countries. While services like Parrot Analytics measure demand at the content title level, IP Ranking measures demand at the IP level — tracking how individual franchises, characters, and brands resonate across global markets.

We combine data from 6 sources across 86 countries to create composite popularity rankings for anime, gaming, and character IPs, updated weekly. Currently indexing 1,237 IPs.

What is CVS?

CVS (Character Valuation Score) is our proprietary metric that quantifies an entertainment IP's market value on a 0–100 scale. It combines four dimensions:

Social Buzzmajor input

Search interest across tracked countries. Measures real-time consumer attention.

Search Demandsupporting input

Video and search platform presence. Measures active discovery behavior.

Global Reachsupporting input

Number of countries with measurable data. Measures geographic penetration.

Source Coveragesupporting input

Breadth of data sources with data for this IP. Measures cross-platform presence.

Character IP Classification

IP Ranking classifies character IPs into three types based on their relationship to source material:

Type ATitle-Dependent

Characters whose popularity is inseparable from their source title. Their brand value rises and falls with the title's performance.

Examples: Luffy (One Piece), Tanjiro (Demon Slayer), Goku (Dragon Ball)

Type BTitle-Independent

Characters that have transcended their source material and carry standalone brand equity. They are recognized independently of any specific title.

Examples: Pikachu (Pokémon), Mario (Super Mario), Godzilla

Type COriginal IP

Characters or brands that exist without a parent title or narrative franchise. They are pure character IPs monetized through merchandising, licensing, and presence.

Examples: Hello Kitty (Sanrio), Kumamon, Labubu (Pop Mart)
